Meet the Poet, a Tish about “The Biographer”, David Katz’s latest collection of poetry, moderated by Diane Cole.

Unlike previous eras, in which readers were encouraged to consider a poem or novel separately from the poet’s or novelist’s biography, the author’s life story, rather than the work itself, seems paramount today. Interviewed by cultural journalist Diane Cole, poet David M. Katz will discuss how The Biographer, his fifth collection of poems, interrogates and explores that assumption. Along the way,  these two long-term SAJers will discuss some of the book’s other themes, such as the Jewish immigrant experience in America, child abandonment, and the elusiveness of memory.
