Forest Bathing in Central Park

September 14, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

The Mental Health & Resiliency Team is happy to invite you to join us for Forest Bathing in Central Park on Saturday, September 14 (rain or shine) after services and kiddush, led by Lori Klamner, a Forest Bathing guide. This is an adults-only group and will last approximately two hours. We will be walking between half and three quarters of a mile and sitting at least for 10 to 15 minutes.

Forest Bathing refers to using all of our senses to disconnect from our usual busy urban lives, and mindfully connect to nature, including animals, plants, rocks, soil, air, wind and sun which in turn, means reconnecting with ourselves. We will give our thinking brain a rest and use our feeling brain.

Please wear comfortable shoes and warm layers, bring a water bottle, snacks and something to sit on, on the ground, such as a yoga mat, pillow case, hand towel or plastic shopping bag. You may also bring a seat cane or portable chair. We will meet outside the SAJ just before 1:00 PM in what promises to be a meaningful experience for all. Interested? Click here to sign up. See you there!

*Please note that this is an in-person event only
