What’s Your Kashrut?, presented by Gary Drevitch.

Keeping a kosher home is essential for some Jews, and preposterously outdated for others. I’m not the only one who sees it as a real divider of Jews between and within denominations. And of course it’s an area of the law where many families make up their own rules.

In this Tish, I will explore the data on kashrut participation from surveys and other insititutional sources and discuss its toles as a uniter and divider of Jews but more centrally its signal role in determining how Jews in general approach their personal interpretations of and relationships to halachah.
