SAJ Art Exhibition Series: Richard Katz’s Shadows

In the past sculpture was always the three-dimensional representation of natural objects such as people, animals, or mythological creatures. After the start of the industrial revolution of the 20th century, sculpture began to evolve in an attempt to experience space—or negative space—as an art form.

Richard Katz’s hobby for the past forty years has been sculpting in various mediums. His work has generally been abstract. However, In the past ten years or so his sculptures evolved into working within these negative spaces.

The current exhibit in the Social Hall consists of 10 sculptures by Richard Katz title of the exhibit is Shadows.
