Yom Kippur Poetry Sessions: The Long Road
Led by SAJ Members David Katz & Linda Stern
Multi-Access in the sanctuary
Inspired by the theme chosen for the second day on Rosh HaShanah, as well as the day’s Martyrology, poets and long-time SAJ members Linda Stern and David M. Katz, will read, analyze, and lead a discussion on three poems. The three poems are Traveler, your footprints by Antonio Machado, Black Flowers by Norma Cole, and Shirt by Robert Pinsky. Movingly appropriate to the day, they explore, successively, the difficult journeys of humanity as a whole, refugee populations, and the products of human labor.
