First Friday of the month – 6:00pm Candlelighting on your own, 6:15pm – 7:15pm Tiferet Singing Circle
Breathe out the week, sing in the new. In the spirit of separating the rest of the week from Shabbat and moving towards renewal of body and spirit, we will join our voices together and let our spirits soar. We will sing a combination of traditional and contemporary melodies, hear some words of Jewish wisdom, and savor some silence between the notes.
All voices welcome, whether you are professional singer or think you cannot carry a tune. All songs will have Hebrew and transliteration. Note that while our structure will be informed by the traditional liturgy, this is not a traditional service.
Happy Hour Shabbat
5 times a year, check our SAJ calendar for exact dates
It is taught that Shabbat is “me’en olam haba’ah” — “a taste of the world to come.” What is more like the world to come than good company, wine, yummy food and live music? Come to relax and unwind with us at our popular Happy Hour Shabbat. Live classical music provided by SAJ members and professional musicians, Jason Smoller, Ashley Windle and friends.
