Led by Rabbi Emeritus Michael Strassfeld, Celebrating the High Holidays: Contemplative High Holiday Services offers an inspired way to move into a New Year. Through readings, spiritual teachings, wordless melodies (niggunim), and quiet reflection, we explore our inner life as we consider the themes of these holy days. This year in addition to teshuvah/change, we will focus on the theme of renewal as found in the teachings of Hasidism. We will also reflect on our strengths of character, not just the characteristics we struggle to change.

The contemplative services take place for one hour and a half on first day Rosh HaShanah, Kol Nidre, and Yom Kippur. We will be using a handout for the service, (which you are invited to keep). There will be shofar blowing during the Rosh HaShanah service and Yizkor during the Yom Kippur service.
