Dating the Deluge, presented by Paul Davis, a new SAJ member who is leading a Tish for the first time. (Multi-Access Tish)
January 21 @ 9:00 am - 9:50 am EST

Dating the Deluge, presented by Paul Davis, a new SAJ member who is leading a Tish for the first time.
The first date mentioned in the Torah is one of the most mysterious. We are told in Parashat Noach that the wellsprings of the deep burst apart and the casements of the sky broke open on the seventeenth day of the “second month.” But what month was that? The precise timing of the Greatest Reset has been a topic of debate for millennia, pitting R. Yehoshua against R. Eliezer and R. Arthur Waskow against Chabad. In this session we will try to figure out who’s right. Participants will be exposed to higher criticism, comparative mythology, archaeoastronomy, crackpot theories about the lost island of Atlantis, and pictures of Paul’s son Isaac who was born on the 17th of Cheshvan.
