6:45pm- Kabbalat Shabbat Service led by SAJ Clergy (all ages welcome)
7:45pm (approx)- Vegetarian potluck Shabbat Dinner
Shabbat is a Jewish practice that invites us to unwind, to let go, to reflect, and to increase our gratitude and joy. This *new* monthly Friday night experience at SAJ aims to give us the space to do all these things through community building, singing, and perhaps the most Jewish of all: eating!
Gather for a short nosh, l’chayim (toast), and shmooze to start to unwind. Then let the week that passed go as we welcome in Shabbat with joyful song and inspiration. After you have fed your soul, nourish your body with a potluck vegetarian (kosher fish friendly) Shabbat dinner. Join for a part of all of the evening. No particular knowledge or background required and people of all ages are welcome. We will have some toys for younger ones and games for tweens and teens on hand.
Covid requirements: All attendees, ages 5 and up, must be vaccinated. Until further notice, everyone at the service will be required to wear a surgical, KN94 or KN95 mask. Due to staffing challenges, this program will begin in person only to start.
