From Synagogue to Movement: Remembering the Legacy of Rabbi Ira Eisenstein z”l

Rabbi Ira built and sustained the infrastructure of The SAJ as a synagogue and community during his tenure as SAJ rabbi, established Reconstructionist Judaism as a fourth Movement in American Judaism, founded and served as first President of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, and served as Rabbi of the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore.  Learn the history and hear personal memories from Rabbi Deborah Waxman (President of Reconstructing Judaism and historian of Reconstructionist Judaism), Rabbi Lee Friedlander (Rabbi of the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore and beloved student of Rabbi Ira), and Harriet Feiner (member of The SAJ Youth Group led by Rabbi Ira and lay leader of the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore during Rabbi Ira’s tenure).
