Multi-Access Tish: Parenting during the pandemic: stories, expertise, and open mic.

November 13, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 9:45 am EST

Multi-Access Tish: Parenting during the pandemic: stories, expertise, and open mic.

Have you spoken to SAJ parents of school-age children during the pandemic?

With children now ages 5+ able to access the vaccine, families are feeling optimistic about reentering society, including community Jewish life. But these past two years have been a series of trials, with stories of fear, shame, anxiety, loss, as well as resilience, creativity, and hope.

Join SAJ dads Jon Grabelle Herrmann and Dr. Daniel Prezant — with an open invite for other SAJ parents and grandparents to participate — as they share their perspectives as SAJ members and, for Dan, as an expert psychologist focused on child and adolescent mental health. This tish is a space for learning by sharing. Two articles with relevant perspectives: NY Times story on parents during the early pandemic (“no divorce, no children running away, no getting fired”), and Dan’s analysis of Back to School issues for Fall 2021.

For the Fall Season we expect that most attendees will attend the Tish on Zoom. The presenters will either be on Zoom or be in-person at the SAJ if they are able to make it to the Social Hall. People who will be attending services are welcome to attend the Tish in-person but we will be limiting in-person attendance to 15 people until further notice

(Zoom ID: 964-139-778)

Learning facilitated by lay leaders.   Click Here for 2021-22 SAJ Tish Calendar .

If you want to schedule a Tish for the 2021-22 season please reach out to Dan Woods and Shel Schiffman. (tish@saj.nyc)
