Online Tish

September 25 @ 9:00 am - 9:50 am EDT

Tish (multi-access): Transforming the Economy Toward Social Justice: The Driver’s Coop, a new cooperative enterprise, presented by Dan Woods.

The passage from Isaiah we read during the High Holidays asks us for a real fast, one that changes the world for the better. The Driver’s Coop offers a way we can put our desire for advancing social justice to work on an everyday basis. A group of drivers in NYC has formed a coop, one owned and governed by drivers, to provide a ride hailing service. The group is seeking to provide better jobs for drivers and a high quality service for New Yorkers. The group is reaching out to faith communities in NYC to explain how they are building this new service. Dan and a representative of the Driver’s Coop will explain how it is all coming together and their plans for growth.

For the Fall Season we expect that most attendees will attend the Tish on Zoom. The presenters will either be on Zoom or be in-person at the SAJ if they are able to make it to the Social Hall. People who will be attending services are welcome to attend the Tish in-person but we will be limiting in-person attendance to 15 people until further notice
