Kosher for Passover by ingredient Dairy/Potluck Meal
$18 per person and $36 per household charge
Limited Spots Available, Priority for SAJ members and member guests

Join in community as we gather to tell the story of Passover through traditional readings and interactive moments; through song and play. Together we will sing and celebrate our way from slavery to freedom, hope and joy. The first section of the seder (the “before the meal”) will have family-friendly and everybody friendly components. After the meal, we will have more adult focused time. Everyone is invited to bring a photo or object that symbolizes freedom for them. If you have a particular poem or reflection to share, email to see if we can incorporate that sharing.
In order to keep costs down* and ensure that anyone who would like or needs a seder can attend, we are asking everyone to bring a Kosher for Passover Potluck dairy/kosher fish dish. Kosher for Passover by ingredient means no wheat, barley, spelt, oats and rye. SAJ will provide matzah, seder plates for each table, Kosher for Passover wine/juice for the four cups, a few certified Kosher for Passover dishes and desserts for the potluck.

Potluck dishes prepared by the Ashkenazi custom should be free from wheat, corn, corn products, soybeans, legumes, rice, millet or other grains. Dishes prepared by the Sephardic custom style should be free from wheat and grains. When you arrive, please use one of our labels on your dish according to which custom. If your practice of Kashrut on Passover dictates that you not eat food prepared in a not kashered for Passover kitchen, please bring food for yourself/your family!

Once you register, you will receive a link in your confirmation email to signup to bring a potluck appetizer or preferably main dish that can feed four or more people. Additionally, if you have a special charoset dish, please bring it along. If you want wine with your meal, please BYO (does not have to be certified Kosher for Passover).
Cost is $18 for individuals and $36 for households of two or more people to defray the cost of staff, food and materials. You are welcome to make a donation greater than that amount if you are able. The seder is limited to 60 individuals, which includes children over the age of 2, so we encourage you to sign up quickly!
*Catered community seders at other synagogues typically range from $75-150 per person. We decided not to let finances be a barrier from gathering in community this year, which is why we have opted for the potluck model.
