January 13 @ 9:00 am - 9:50 am EST

Sara Copia: A Locked In Life

Telling Her Story:  From Fact to Fiction in the Writing of Sarra Copia: A Locked-in Life, presented by Nancy Ludmerer.

Nancy will discuss her research into 17th century Venice, the Jewish ghetto there, and the life of Sarra Copia (1592-1641), a Jewish poet and intellect, and the process of writing historical fiction based on a limited historical record. Nancy will also reveal how her book, published by WTAW Press in October 2023, made its way to Iran, Israel, and India.

Postscript:  If you were at the book launch or have read the book and have specific questions about Nancy’s writing process, please send your questions to nancyludmerer@gmail.com before January 13th 7 a.m ET (at the latest — earlier is welcome!) and she will try to address them during the Tish.
