Zochrenu: Everyone Living a Survivor: Reflections on Bearing Witness from One Plague Time to Another, presented by Jonah Scott Mendelsohn.

(The Tish on 9/24 will be on Zoom. See details below)

The days of our years are but seventy years, and if in great strength, eighty years…. To count our days rightly, instruct, that we may get a heart of wisdom Psalm 90, verses 10 and 12 (Alter translation) What does it mean to remember a life during plague times? What is our obligation to bear witness, when we feel overwhelmed and vulnerable ourselves? Jonah offers a reading and discussion of two poems from the early days of the AIDS crisis that speak to our current moment, including an excerpt from Love Alone: Elegies for Rog, his upcoming play for World AIDS Day. Jonah is an actor, poet, and singer. https://www.lovealone-play.org/

This Tish will take place on Zoom. If you are at SAJ for services, a laptop will be set up in the Social Hall so you can enjoy the Tish.

SAJ members often arrive 10 minutes early at the Social Hall and on Zoom to enjoy fellowship.
