Ilana Marcus

Ilana joined SAJ in January 2025 as our Operations Manager, and oversees building operations, including shabbat coordination, events, rentals, inventory, and much more.

Born in California, Ilana moved to Westchester, New York with her parents, older sister, and pet turtle when she was eight years old. After graduating from the State University of New York at Albany with a BA in Information Science and Policy and a minor in Theater, Ilana moved to New York City, where she has lived for almost two decades. During that time, she has worked in various digital, event planning, and operations roles across the finance, jewelry, manufacturing, real estate, fitness, and beauty industries. 

Outside of SAJ, Ilana loves SoulCycle, vintage shopping, karaoke, beach days, hosting events for friends, food festivals, cooking, traveling, and action movies. She is also passionate about philanthropy and has volunteered for and led many service projects over the years, including internationally.

And no bio would be complete without Ilana’s favorite fun fact: her grandma was the “I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up” lady (“Mrs. Fletcher”) from the 1990’s LifeCall commercial!
